GHS Connect #36 Monday 15th July

Mia's notes

What a whirlwind week last week was.  An emotional farewell to the wonderful Jeremy who sadly probably won’t read this as he has now finished for the year, along with the highs of another successful International Day and a whole load more exciting trips.

Thank you and well done to everyone who has been involved in so many things - everything really is a team effort. Special thanks of course to Maya for International Day and for everyone who supported with making it such a success. This week we will see the performance of School of Rock and Sports Day and also recognise that these have been a huge team effort too, but give special thanks to the Drama and PE departments for all of their work on these.

Not long to go now until a very welcome Summer break.  Details of the end of term arrangements can be found using the link below:

Deborrah Smith encourages students to take pride in their workbooks by presenting work neatly and taking care with homework pieces. Students were keen to share and have photographed the pieces of work they felt most proud of from their books!

Action Research Groups Reflection

Thank you so much to everyone for their thoughtful reflections on the impact of their Action Research projects this year.  The atmosphere in the rooms as colleagues shared their successes and remaining challenges was warm and supportive and it has been wonderful to read the concrete steps that teachers have taken to improve learning this year.

Please continue to consider the research you have been working with as we move forward into planning for next academic year.

Inclusion Heroes

This week I would like to thank the PSWs for all their incredible work mentoring students, supporting with trips and visits and managing students whilst trips are taking place.  I would also like to thank the many TAs that have supported our students this academic year and will be leaving us to pursue new career pathways.
