Respect
Hopefully you will have noticed a few slides going up in assemblies, in tutor time and in Reception about the importance of Respect in our community, how it is one of our three rules, and what disrespect looks like.
We are going to be launching a Respect Strategy very soon, which will include assemblies on this theme, a PSHCE session pivoted around it later this month, a focus on seeing if students are being respectful to staff when Patrol checks in with teachers, and sanctions for those who are not showing respect. We will arrive at a shared definition of what it means to be respectful through a staff survey and carefully track those students who are not abiding by it. In addition to this, the Pastoral Support Workers have been working hard on a series of Respect Workshops that Heads of Year and Heads of Department will be able to refer key students to. More information and details will follow very soon… If anyone has any questions in the meantime, please feel free to ask!
As always, a big thank you to everyone for your support with all our students from a Pastoral and Inclusion point of view and for your patience with some of our more vulnerable and challenging students. And for looking after the students of GHS so well.
Lou
